History

The History of Gollcher Group of Companies goes back to 1854 when Olof Fredrik Gollcher, a Swede who settled in Malta a few years earlier, founded O.F. Gollcher & Sons.

He was soon involved with the local shipping industry and established himself as a leading figure, operating his own ships from Malta to North African, Sicilian, and Adriatic ports. He pioneered the first services to the sister Island of Gozo and also organised ferry services within the Maltese Harbours.

The Gollcher Group is today at the forefront of the maritime, international transportation and travel sectors in Malta and is fully committed to providing a first class quality service to business partners and customers.

Our activities are diverse and include: Ship & Liner Agency, Cruise Liner Agents, Surveyors and Loss Adjusters, Airline Cargo General Sales Agent, Freight Forwarding, International Express Courier, Travel and Destination Management Services and Ship Registration.

The core strategy of the Group is built around a total commitment to provide an unrivalled professional service. Our Success is based upon a policy of sustained investment in human resources, training methods and information technology. This is supported by a wealth of experience gained over the years and a willingness to constantly monitor our customer needs and respond accordingly.

The Gollcher motto ” Framåt “, meaning forward, projects the Group’s proactive philosophy to readily anticipate and deal with challenges ahead.

The Group is accredited by Malta Standards Authority to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standards for most of its services.

The Group’s Head Office overlooks the attractive St. John’s Square at the heart of the Island’s Capital, Valletta.
